2013 SFCM Youth Chamber Music Competition

Each year student ensembles from Central New York audition in hopes of being selected to perform at the beginning of one of Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music's subscription concerts.

The 14th annual SFCM Youth Chamber Music Competition will take place on Tuesday evening, February 5, 2013 at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Syracuse, located at 250 Waring Road in Syracuse. The winning ensemble, if deemed worthy by the judges, will perform at our Saturday evening concert on March 30, 2013, ahead of our featured ensemble, the Boston Chamber Music Society.

This year's competition is limited to ensembles located within a 65-mile radius of Syracuse. Students must be high school age or younger and may compete in ensembles of three to eight musicians on standard orchestral instruments.
